Tips for Travel

1.

Traveling to Blanes

public-transport-crema.png

Get a window seat on the train so you can see the sea!

(It is the right side of the train in the direction of travel)

Opening and closing hours

2.

Opening and closing hours

In general...

open-sign-crema.png
  • Lunch starts around 1pm and dinner starts at 8pm.

  • Some restaurants, especially in Barcelona, will open all day.

  • Many stores, shops, and pharmacies, especially in Blanes, close at 2pm and reopen at 5pm

3.

Tipping

tipping-crema.png
  • Tipping is appreciated, but not to like in the United States.

  • Local residents may tip between €1 and 2 in cash.

  • Tourist spots, especially in Barcelona, may trick visitors to tip between 5% and 20%, but you don't need to tip this much.

4.

Exchange rates on credit cards

exchange-rate-crema.png

When you pay by credit card, ALWAYS pay in EURO (€) the local currency.

Your credit card will have its own (often better) exchange rate.

5.

Mobile data

mobile-data-crema.png

You can easily buy a physical SIM card at a third-party convenience store or mobile phone/electronics store.

(Here is one example by Plaça Catalunya. There are many similar stores by different names. In July 2025, 300GB of data was 10.)

6.

Adapters

power-outlet-crema.png

Electrical outlets in Catalunya are Type F "Schuko" and Type C "Europlug" just like the icon or also found here.

You can easily get adapters online or when you arrive.

7.

Emergency #
